A sexagenarian man was stabbed to death allegedly by his neighbour over a trifling matter at Jurain Boubazar in the Kadamtali area in the city on Thursday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Joynal, 60, a resident of the area and supervisor of rental rickshaw-vans.
Officer-in-charge of Kadamtali Police Station Abdus Salam Miah said Alimul Bashar, a neighbour of Joynal, went to Joynal and asked him to rent his rickshaw-van for carrying some sacks of cement but he refused.
A brawl ensued between them and at one stage Alimul stabbed Joynal with a pair of scissors, leaving him seriously injured. Joynal was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead at about 8:00am. Police arrested Alimul from the spot.
