Shamsur Rahman\\\'s death anniv observed

The 8th death anniversary of renowned poet Shamsur Rahman was observed in the city Sunday through various programmes, reports BSS.
Floral wreaths were placed on the grave of the poet by members of his family, Jatiya Kabita Parishad (JKP), Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ), Shamsur Rahman Smriti Parishad and Bangabandhu Abritti Sangsad in the morning.
A discussion was also held at the central office of BSJ with its president Advocate Tarana Halim, MP, in the chair. ATM Shamsuzzaman, Pijush Bandyopadhyay, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Dr Inamul Haque, Balaram Poddar, Sheikh Md Jahangir Alam, Arun Sarker Rana, Halim Azad addressed the discussion, among others.
At the discussion, speakers recalled the contribution of the poet in all democratic movements, including the Liberation War, a press release said.
