University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Abdul Manan said Thursday Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a visionary and far sighted leader, reports BSS.
"Bangladesh would have fallen into a deep crisis if Sheikh Hasina would not come back to the country to lead Awami League and become the prime minister," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion at Jagannath University (JnU) marking the Homecoming Day of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The UGC chairman said the leadership of Sheikh Hasina is highly needed for upholding the country's image to the global community.
JnU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mizanur Rahman and Treasurer Prof Selim Bhuiyan attended the discussion as the special guests with dean of science faculty Professor Ashraful Alam in the chair.
Associate Professor of Department of Bangla Dr Milton Biswas presented the keynote paper on the occasion.
