Sheikh Selim's mother dies

Asia Khatun, mother of Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim and elder sister of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, died of old age complications at Shikdar Medical College Hospital here at 12:45 pm Thursday. She was 89, reports UNB.
She left behind two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
Earlier at about 12 noon, Awami League president Sheikh Hasina visited the hospital to see her aunt.
Following her death, Sheikh Hasina rushed to the Banani residence of Sheikh Selim to see the deceased.
