Shilu Abed Master Craftsman Award

The Shilu Abed Master Craftsman Award was presented on Thursday, March 5. The event is sponsored by BRAC and initiated by the National Crafts Council of Bangladesh. The award giving ceremony was held at BRAC Centre Inn's Auditorium. The award for Best Master Craftsman went to Agoiljhara, Barisal's Aditya Kumar Ghatak.

This year, participants were selected on the basis of handicrafts of woodwork. The certified contestants in this category were Gopalganj's Silvester Prashanta Barai and Sonargaon's Abdul Awal Mullah.

The prize giving ceremony was presided over by the Chairperson of the National Crafts Council Shahid Hossain Shamim. Professor Farida Haque spoke about the life and work of Shilu Abed.
