Shimulia-Kathalbari ferry services resume

The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) resumed ferry services between Shimulia-Kathalbari route on Saturday on a limited scale.

"We (BIWTC) resumed ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route on Saturday morning considering the safety of the passengers," General Manager (Commerce-Cargo and Ferry) of BIWTC S M Ashikuzzaman told the FE on Saturday.

When contacted, Manager (Marine) of BIWTC Mawa ghat Ahammed Ali told the FE on the day that only five small-sized ferries operated from Shimulia of Munshiganj to Kathalbari of Shariatpur during daytime on Saturday.
