SI Jahid sued for one more custodial death

Another case has been filed with a Dhaka court against sub-inspector (SI) Jahidur Rahman Khan, the prime accused in the trader Sujan killing case, for torturing a young man to death in police custody, reports UNB.
Imtiaz Hossain Rocky, cousin of victim Jony, filed the case against Jahid and seven others with the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Thursday.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, Judge Zahurul Haque ordered judicial investigation into it.
The other accused are officer-in-charge (OC) of Pallabi thana Ziaur Rahman, SIs Abdul Baten, Rashed and Shovan Kumar Saha, constable Nazrul and police sources Sumon and Russell.
SI Jahid of Mipur thana is now behind the bars in a case filed in connection with the custodial death of Mahbubur Rahman Sujan, who used to deal in garment scraps.
