Six dacoits arrested in Chattogram

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Monday arrested six alleged dacoits in connection with a bus robbery in the Phansiakhali area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway, reports BSS.

The arrested dacoits were identified as Md Yahya alias Joynal, 26, Solim Ullah, 33, Saber Ahmed, 29, Abul Kalam, 30, Shah Aman alias Batu, 26, and Mohammad Abdullah, 25, residents of different areas of Cox's Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Patenga in the port city, RAB said.

RAB arrested them from different areas of Chattogram city and districts in the last 24 hours, Commander of RAB-7 Lt. Col. Md. Mashiur Rahman Jewel said at a press briefing on Monday.

The RAB commander said the robbery took place in the Phansiakhali area of Cox's Bazar on the night of November 28. Two passengers of Saudia Paribahan were shot and Taka 0.4 million were snatched by the robber gang.
