Six Dhaka WASA officials face the music over graft

Six revenue inspectors of the Dhaka WASA were relieved of their responsibility during a drive conducted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday on charge of misusing power and tampering with water bills.

The anti-graft watchdog conducted the drive at the WASA's Mirpur regional office in the capital after receiving multiple complaints from consumers through its hotline.

An ACC team led by its Assistant Director Md Salauddin conducted the drive under direct supervision of acting Director General (resistance) and chief coordinator (enforcement) of the commission Sarwar Mahmud.

The officials against whom the department action was taken are: Emdadul Haque, Ashraful Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan, Badruzzaman (Badal), Abu Taleb and Abu Talha.

Sarwar Mahmud said ACC team directed the WASA authorities to take action against the corrupt officials.
