Six killed, 25 injured in separate road mishaps

Six people, including two of a family, were killed and 25 others injured in separate road mishaps Sunday, reports UNB.
In Comilla, a passenger was killed and 10 others injured in a head-on-collision between two buses at Chhayghoria under Chandina Upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway. The deceased could not be identified immediately.In another incident, a woman and her minor granddaughter were crushed under the wheels of a bus at Madhaiya under Chandina Upazila on the same highway.
The victims were identified as Kalpana Rani Shil (45) and her granddaughter Mukta (3), of Kashba Kongai village in the Upazila.
In Chuadanga, a man was killed and 15 others injured when a bus dashed a roadside tree at Baka village under Jibannagar Upazila early in the morning.
Police said a Darshana-bound night coach from Dhaka hit a power-tiller near the spot and then crashed into the roadside tree, killing the bus passenger Babu (38), of Mobarakpara village under Damurhuda Upazila, on the spot and injuring 15 other passengers.
In Sylhet, a young man was crushed under the wheels of a pickup-van at Uttarkul under Zakiganj Upazila Thursday night.
Witnesses said the Sylhet-bound speedy van ran over Yusuf Ali (18), son of Abdur Rahim of Barothakuri village of the Upazila, killing him on the spot.
