Six killed in separate incidents across country

Six persons were killed in separate incidents across the country during the last 24 hours, according to  news agencies.

In Jhenidah, a college girl was killed and her mother and brother were injured as a truck crashed into their motorcycle at Kodalia Munshipara in Sadar upazila Friday.

In Gazipur, two people, including a woman, were killed and three others injured as a bus knocked down a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Nayanpur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Sreepur upazila on Friday morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Adbur Rashid, 45, a resident of Faridpur village. Witnesses said a BRTC bus coming from Netrakona district crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Nayanpur around 8:30am, leaving two people dead and three others injured on the spot.

In Rajshahi, a housewife died after she received a snakebite at Biharipara in Puthia upazila on Thursday afternoon.  The deceased was identified as Shaheda Begum, 45, wife of Rajab Ali.  Locals said a venomous snake bit Shaheda while she was sleeping in her room early Thursday.

In Satkhira, a man died from electrocution in Ashashuni upazila headquarters on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Abul Bashar, 32, son of Shohrab Gazi, a resident of Shreeula village of the upazila.

In Chittagong, a Syrian mariner was killed while anchoring ship at Chittagong port this morning. The victim was Abdur Rahim, 25, a mariner of Syrian ship of MV Marikana, hailed from Syria.
