SOMCH to start coronavirus test from tomorrow

SYLHET, Apr 05: Testing facilities for coronavirus suspects in Sylhet division would begin tomorrow (Tuesday), said the Deputy Director at the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Dr. Himangshu Lal Roy on Sunday.

It has been set on the Virology department of the Hospital, he said.

Since setting up of the PCR machine and other equipment is complete, a brief training of the staff concerned, including nurses and technicians, has been going on and it would continue till Monday, he added.

A team from the IEDCR completed installation of the PCR machine at the lab.

Only the referred persons or suspected coronavirus carriers would be able to get tested here, the Deputy Director said. If oeperated 24 hours, sample of 200 persons could be tested here, he said adding four districts of Sylhet division would get the facility.
