Somoy TV will launch programme on Liberation War for children

The local private television channel Somoy TV is going to launch a programme titled "Muktijhuddhoke Jano" (Know the Liberation War) for the children.
The 24- hour news channel will start telecasting the programme from March 26, the Independence Day. Afterwards the programme will be telecasted every Friday morning at 10:10 am, the authority of the channel announced it at a press conference on Friday at its office in the city.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Channel Ahmed Zubair, Editorial Chief Niaz Morshed Quaderi, Head of News Tushar Abdullah were present at the press conference.
Ahmed Zubair said they think that the children of the new generation have eagerness to know the history of Liberation War of 1971.
"Many of our liberation war heroes are still unsung and unseen…we will bring them in front of the children…they will listen to the war heroes at the very place where the gallantry fights took place between freedom fighters and Pakistani forces," he said.
He said, "The programme will be a sort of educational…. Participants will take part in quiz session after the end of programme to check their learning skill."
Niaz Morshed Quaderi said they will primarily run the programme for an hour and "Our plan is to continue it as long as we can."
Head of News Tushar Abdullah said that they have a plan to prepare a draft of the programme and later publish it.
