Southeast University (SEU) hosted the 4th IEEE Conference on Power, Electrical, Electronics, and Industrial Applications (PEEIACON) 2025 on December 4-5.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Bangladesh Section and IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Bangladesh Chapter jointly organised this event, according to a press statement.
The two-day event began with an inaugural session held at the Multipurpose Hall of SEU on December 4. The speakers of the session were Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, vice chancellor, SEU; Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, pro-vice chancellor, SEU; Dr. Celia Shahnaz, conference chair and professor, Department of EEE, BUET; Dr. Shaikh A. Fattah, technical chair and professor, Department of EEE, BUET; Prof. Dr. M. Imamul Hassan Bhuiyan, organising chair and professor, Department of EEE, BUET; Prof. Dr. Dewan Md. Farid, dean, School of Engineering, SEU and Farzana Alam, lecturer, Department of EEE, SEU.
The conference featured presentations of research papers, engaging plenary and invited talks, and workshops. Additionally, it included the Women in Engineering (WIE) World Summit 2025 and an idea competition focused on the effects of climate change, where participants showcased innovative ideas and solutions.
Most plenary speakers joined virtually from the USA, Australia, India, and Singapore.
Over 100 papers were presented at PEEIACON 2025, which was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
