SPE Students Chapter at CUET

The Students Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) started its journey at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in Chittagong on Monday.

Dr M Tamim, former adviser to caretaker government and head of PMRE Department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) formally launched the chapter.

CUET vice chancellor Prof Dr Md Jahangir Alam, pro-vice chancellor Prof Md Rafiqul Alam, Dr Badius Salam, dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Prof Dr Sajal Chandra Banik, head of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) of the university, were present on the occasion.

Md Islam Mia, lecturer, PME, is the faculty adviser of the SPE Students Chapter. Md Nahin Mahmud (4th year) is the Chapter's president, Navid Yusuf (4th year) its vice president, Md Shafayet Jamil (3rd year) general secretary, Rashik Majid (3rd year) its finance secretary and Shahadat Hossain its office secretary, says a press release.
