Student held at Dhaka airport with gold

Customs officials arrested a student along with 775 grams of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday, reports UNB.

Sources at the airport said the customs officials searched Md Farje Rahman, 20, for his suspicious movement as he arrived from Kuala Lumpur by MH102 flight about 12 noon and recovered the gold concealed inside his undergarment.

Hailing from Brahmanbaria, Farje Rahman is a fourth-year bachelor degree student of a Malaysian college.

During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to the customs officials that he carried the gold, worth about TK 3.8 million, in exchange for an air ticket.

Fajre travelled 12 times in the last six months, the sources added.
