Police fired tear gas shells to stop a clash between a section of Dhaka University students and book traders at Nilkhet Saturday, reports UNB.
Witnesses said three book shops were set on fire during the clash that erupted at around 6.00 pm.
Police used tear gas to disperse the clashing groups.
The cause of the violence was not immediately known.
