Students demand justice for fellow Rumpa's death

Students of Stamford University (SU) and guardians formed a human chain in front of Viquarunnisa School and College in the city on Friday to protest against the murder of SU student Rubayat Sharmin Rumpa — Focus Bangla

Students of Dhaka's Stamford University launched on Friday a protest seeking justice over the alleged murder of fellow student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, reports bdnews24.com.

On Friday, more than 50 students formed a human chain along the main entrance of the university in Siddheshwari, said Ramna thana Inspector Mahfuzul Haque Bhuiyan.

They also brought out a procession and marched towards Viqarunnisa Noon School and College demanding a proper investigation into the Rumpa's death.

Police recovered the body on an alley of Siddheswari Circular Road behind Ayesha Complex opposite the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters of police at Malibagh on Wednesday night.

It was initially presumed that she fell to her death from a building.
