Sugarcane crushing starts in nine mills

Crushing of sugarcane has been started Friday in nine sugar mills, including Joypurhat Sugar Mills, under the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC), reports BSS.
The crushing of sugarcane in Joypurhat Sugar Mills was inaugurated by chairman of the BSFIC Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman Friday while deputy Commissioner of Joypurhat Mohammad Shafiqual Islam was present as the special guest on the occasion.
The target of sugar production in Joypurhat Sugar Mills has been fixed at 12,226 metric tonnes by crushing 1,63,000 metric tonnes of sugarcane with a recovery rate of 7.50 per cent.
