CHITTAGONG, Nov 29 (UNB/BSS): Rescue vessel 'Adamya' of Bangladesh Navy detected a sunken trawler-like object under the sea near 28 nautical miles west of Saint Martin's Island on Saturday, a day after a fishing trawler capsized in the Bay.
Mr Shamim, commanding officer of Navy Detective Directorate, said they have found images of an object like the sunken trawler which is 27 metre in length and 8 metre in width 120 feet under the sea through sonar processing near the spot where the fishing trawler 'FB Bandhan' capsized.
It is not confirmed yet whether it is the sunken fishing trawler or not, he said.
However, no new bodies were recovered until filling of this report around 2 pm.
Earlier, a man died and at least 26 people went missing as a fishing trawler named 'FB Bandhan' of Bengal Fisheries Limited with 29 crew on board capsized in the Bay being hit by another trawler while it was going into the deep sea for fishing.
On information, five vessels including two of Bangladesh Navy reached the spot and rescued two people and recovered the body of another while the others went missing.
The owner of fishing trawler filed a general diary (GD) on Friday night with city's Patenga thana, said Mohammad Shahabuddin, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Patenga police station.
OC Shahabuddin said 'Bengal Fisheries' in the GD held Singapore-bound 'Basundhara-8' responsible for the accident.
