She also said the role of Sheikh Hasina in achieving MDGs and ensuring women rights and empowerment and spreading education has been acclaimed both at home and abroad.

The ambassador came up with the appreciation when she paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office.

After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury briefed reporters.

Mentioning Bangladesh's brilliant success in spreading education, the Swedish Ambassador said her government increased the number of scholarships for Bangladeshi students at postgraduate level.

In response, Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina said her government has given priority to education, especially the education of women as it can help them have their own standing in society.
