Tajikistan for Bangladesh investment under jt venture

Tajikistan has invited Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to invest under joint venture in agriculture and light industrial sectors for mutual benefit of the two countries, reports UNB.

President of Tajikistan Rahmon extended the invitation while accepting the credentials from Bangladesh Ambassador M Shameem Ahsan in Dushanbe recently.

The Tajik president also highlighted the possibility of cooperation in the agriculture and light industries sectors of the two countries and appreciated the development and progress achieved by Bangladesh in socio-economic fields.

He congratulated the new Bangladeshi ambassador and also expressed his willingness in expanding mutually beneficial political, economic and cultural cooperation with Bangladesh.

Ambassador Ahsan conveyed the warm greetings of the President and the Chief Adviser to President Rahmon and the brotherly people of Tajikistan.

He informed the Tajik President about the programmes and policies of the caretaker government, which are aimed at improving governance and expanding opportunities for the people of Bangladesh.

He also briefed him on the socio-economic progress made by Bangladesh in recent times and emphasised on facilitating and enhancing contact between the two countries through participation in cultural and trade related events.

The ambassador, resident in Tehran, during his stay in Dushanbe, also held meetings with the Tajik Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Economic Development and Trade, Education, Culture and Energy and Industry, said a Foreign Ministry release.
