Tareq Masud\\\'s 3rd death anniv today

The third death anniversary of acclaimed filmmaker Tareq Masud and cinematographer and ATN News Chief Executive Officer Mishuk Munier will be observed today (Wednesday), reports BSS.

On August 13 in 2011, Tareq and Mishuk along with three others were killed in a tragic road accident in Manikganj. A vehicle carrying the two celebrities collided with a passenger bus on the highway.

Different programmes have been chalked out marking the day. Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh (FFSB) and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy started a two-day programme Tuesday.

Tareq Masud's films are being screened as part of the programme. Tareque Masud was born in Nurpur village under Bhanga Upazila in Faridpur on December 6 in 1956. He studied at a madrasah until 1971.

He died in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Ghior Upazila of Manikganj on August 13, 2011 while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj after visiting a filming location.

Cinematographer Mishuk Munier, his long-time director of photography, was also killed in the accident. Masud was working on his film 'Kagojer Phool (The Paper Flower)'.
