The government decided on Sunday to form an inter-ministerial taskforce to identify the problems now facing by foreign tourists and resolve those to give a boost to tourist flow into Bangladesh, reports UNB.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Home Ministry and Foreign Ministry jointly took the decision at a roundtable on Visa Arrival to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for foreign tourists.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam were present.
Stakeholders of the tourism industry stressed introducing e-visa and easing on arrival visa process, and removing the problems now facing by foreign tourists.
They also urged the authorities concerned to reduce time for crossing immigration as tourists go through a lengthy process in immigration.
They said the security issue must be taken seriously so that Bangladesh does not turn into a safe sanctuary for criminals in the name of easing visa process.
