Tazreen owner sent to jail

A Chittagong court on Sunday sent owner of Tazreen Fashions Delwar Hossain to jail rejecting his bail prayer in a fraud case. Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mashfiqul Islam passed the order when he surrendered before the court and sought bail. Shimul Sen, an official of KDS group, filed the case against Delwar for embezzling Tk 4.44 million (44,43,000) though fraudulence on December 22, 2013. Earlier, on July 24, a High Court bench comprising Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Huq and Justice M Nazrul Islam Talukder granted bail to Delwar in a case filed over the devastating fire at Tazreen Fashions Ltd. At least 112 people were killed and over 200 others suffered injury in the devastating fire that raged through the Tazreen Fashions in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka city on November 24, 2012, according to a news agency.
