Terrorist killed in gunfight with RAB

NARAYANGANJ, Oct 4 (BSS): An alleged terrorist was killed in a gunfight with members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-10 near Crescent Salt Mills at Kayetpara under Sarulia Police Station in the early hours of today.
He was identified as Aminur Rahman (32), son of Omar Ali of village Sanarpar under Siddirganj Police Station. He was an accused in 10 cases filed with Siddirganj Police Station.
RAB sources said they arrested Aminur from Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at about noon Thursday and took him to RAB camp at Dhalpur in Dhaka for interrogation.
Following his confession, the elite force accompanying Aminur went to Kayetpara at 4 am to recover firearms.
Sensing the presence of the RAB members, accomplices of Aminur opened fire on the elite force. The RAB members fired in return which resulted in a gunbattle.
During the 20-minute shootout, Aminur received bullet injuries and died on the spot, the sources said.
The RAB members recovered a pipe gun, a country made pistol and 10 bullets from the spot.
The body of Aminur was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.s
