The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday promoted three of its own officials to the rank of director general (DG), according to an ACC circular.
Usually, the commission's DGs are appointed on deputation from other cadre services.
The three promoted officials are: Md Akhtar Hossain, Mir Md Zainul Abedin Shebly, and Syed Iqbal Hossain, who had been serving as directors at the ACC headquarters.
Since its inception, the national anti-graft authority had promoted only two of its own officials to the rank of DG before the current promotion, ACC sources said.
The commission also promoted six of its deputy directors to directors and eight others to deputy directors from the post of assistant director.
The new DGs joined the now defunct Anti-Corruption Bureau in 1995 and got promoted to director post in 2015.
The commission has a total of eight DG posts - of which, one was vacant and two DGs were transferred elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the commission also honoured six of its officials and employees with the "Integrity Award 2021-22" at a programme for their extraordinary contribution to the organisation.
The awardees are deputy directors Mirza Zahidul Alam and Md Al-Amin, deputy assistant director SM Nazimuddin, upper division clerk Azizur Rahman, and office assistants Tajmal Hossain and Bacchu Miah.
