Three bodies recovered in C’nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 10 (UNB): In separate incidents, police recovered the bodies of three people in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas on Friday morning. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar thana Jasim Uddin said Safiqul Islam, 47, of Mistripara in the district town jumped from a high wall near their house on Thursday night following a brawl with his wife.

He died on the way to hospital. Police recovered his body around 11am today, the OC said, adding that Safiqul was an assistant officer at Mallickpur union land office in Nachole upazila of the district.

Police recovered the hanging body of Selina Begum, 40, wife of Rabiul Islam of Bhonatola village in Sadar upazila, from her house.

Family members claimed that Selina committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling on Thursday night.

In Shibganj upazila, the body of a youth, Rubel Ali, 26, was recovered from a river in the morning.

Locals saw the body of Rubel, son of Nurul Amin of Bajitpur-Bahadur Moraltola village, in the Pagla river and informed police.
