CUMILLA, Dec 19 (UNB): At least three people, including two brothers, were killed and six others injured on Wednesday after a microbus hit a covered van in Chandina upazila's Nuritala.
The deceased are Dubai expatriate Abdul Mannan (40), his elder brother Abul Kashem (42) from Monohorganj upazila, and Rakib Hossain (20) from Lakshmipur.
Microbus driver Parvez said he had taken the passengers to the airport from Monohorganj. "We were returning home after picking up Mannan. I lost control and rammed into a covered van, parked near the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, killing the three on the spot," he said.
Mannan's wife Hasina Begum (34), daughters Hafsa, Takia, Tahna and nephew Salauddin (25).
