Three die in Sirajganj bus crash

Three people have been killed as a bus tire burst, causing the vehicle to veer out of control and crash into a road divider and an overbridge before overturning in Sirajganj, reports bdnews24.com.
At least 10 others have been injured in the accident.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 am in the Nalka area of Kamarkhand Upazila on the western end of the Jamuna Bridge, according to Amirul Islam, chief (OC) of Jamuna Bridge West Police Station.
Two of the dead have been identified as Rakhi Begum from Sirajganj's Raigonj Upazila and Rakibul Islam from Naogaon's Badalgachi Upazila.
OC Amirul said that the Bushra Paribahan passenger bus was travelling from the north of the country to Dhaka when one of the tires burst. The vehicle veered out of the driver's control and crashed at speed into the gap between a road divider and an overbridge.
The bus driver and his helper were killed on the spot. Another victim died on the way to the hospital.
The injured have been rescued and admitted to the Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital and other local hospitals. The bus involved in the accident is being recovered.
