Three die of dengue, 412 hospitalised

Three more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 118 this year.
A total of 412 new cases have been reported with patients admitted to different hospitals across the country, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday.
The distribution of hospitalized patients includes 102 from Barishal division (outside the City Corporation), 77 from Chattogram division (outside the City Corporation), 51 from Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 69 from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 53 from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 26 from Khulna division (outside the City Corporation), four from Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation) and 30 from Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation).
Despite the alarming rise in hospitalisations, 381 dengue patients were discharged in the last 24 hours.
A total of 27,617 patients have now recovered and been released from hospitals across the country. This year, the total number of dengue infections has risen to 29,044, where 59.3 per cent is men and 40.7 per cent is women.
