Three female cops among 5 killed in two accidents

Five people, including three female police constables, were killed on Sunday in two separate road accidents in the capital city and at Keraniganj, report agencies.
In the city, two policewomen were killed and at least 20 others injured as a truck crashed into a bus carrying them at Fakirapul intersection early morning.
The deceased were identified as constables Manira (20) and Aklima (22).
Sub-Inspector of Motijheel Police Station Md Feroz told BSS that the accident occurred when a sand-laden truck hit the bus coming from the opposite direction.
The wounded were rushed to DMCH and Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital.
Police also detained the truck, the SI added.
At Keraniganj, three people, including a woman police constable, were killed in a collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a truck in front of the Jhilmil housing project.
One of the deceased was identified as Shailee Akhter (25), a police constable and wife of Joynal.
Police said the accident took place around 3:20 pm in the area when the truck collided with the CNG-run auto rickshaw, leaving the trio dead on the spot and another injured.
