FARIDPUR, Jan 2 (UNB): Three people were killed and 15 injured in a head-on-collision between a truck and a lorry on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Madhukhali Upazila Saturday morning.
Police said that the lorry, carrying the employees of Faridpur Sugar Mill, collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction in Dighalia area at about 11:00 am due to poor visibility caused by thick fog, killing one on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) and local health complex. Two of them died at the FMCH.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Tota (50), and mill cashier and ansar member Helal Uddin Joarder (55), and Sushil Kumar Bala (32), respectively.
Sugar mill sources said that the mill employees were going to buy sugarcane.
The accident took place just after a day of the Kanaipur's fatal road accident in Sadar Upazila.
