Three killed, 27 injured in Sirajganj road crashes

SIRAJGANJ, Oct 4 (UNB): Three people, including an elderly physician and a local footballer, were killed and 27 others wounded in four road accidents in the district Saturday.
Police said a bus smashed a tempo near Boalia Bazar on the Bogra-Nagarbari highway at about 8am, killing footballer Rabiul (25) of Monohara village in Ullahpara upazila on the spot and injuring at least 16 others.
In another incident, a young man, Abdus Salam, was killed and five people were injured when a Bogra-bound bus hit a rickshaw van on the western side of Jamuna Bridge at noon.
In Sadar upazila, an elderly physician, Dr Maidan Ali, died on the spot when a motorcycle knocked him down at Fakirtola Bazar at about 4pm.
Yet in another incident, six people were injured when a private car collided with a pickup van at Naimori in Salinga Thana Friday night.
The injured were taken to Dhaka for treatment.
