Three killed in Ctg road crash

CHITTAGONG, June 16 (UNB): Three people, including two schoolgirls, were killed in a road accident in the Sonaichhari area on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda Upazila Monday morning.
The deceased are Jahangir Alam Babul (40) and his daughter Ananya (10) and Raujatul Jannat (9), students of class III of Shishu Niketan School near Hafiz Jute Mills of the upazila.
Syed Zakir, officer in-charge (OC) of Barulia highway police, said the accident took place when a Chittagong-bound truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from back in the area around 10:30am, leaving Ananya dead on the spot and injuring two others.
Both injured Babul and Raujatul Jannat succumbed to their injuries on their way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
