Three killed in separate road accidents

LAXMIPUR, Nov 23 (UNB): A man was killed in a road accident at Bottali on Dhaka-Raipur highway in Sadar upazila in Laxipur early Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 50, son of Khorshed Alam of Borhan Uddin upazila of Bhola. Police said the accident took place when a private car carrying Kalam fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving him dead on the spot. Kalam met the tragic end of his life while going to Bhola from capital by the private car. Another report from Magura adds: Two people were killed in separate road crashes on Magura-Mahammadpur and Magura-Dhaka highways in Magura district on Tuesday. Police said a motorcyclist died on the spot at Joshpur in Mohammadpur upazila when his bike suddenly hit a roadside tree while giving side to a bicycle coming from opposite direction at noon. The deceased was identified as Anowar Hossain, 25, hailed from Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district. In another incident, Khairul Alam, 35, of Batiaghata upazila in Khulna district died as he fell down from a speedy passenger bus near Gorai bridge here on Magura-Dhaka highway at 1:00am. Separate cases were filed.
