Three killed in separate road mishaps

GOPALGANJ, Sept 1 (UNB): Two minor boys including one man were killed in separate road mishaps at Bedgram bus-stand in the district town Wednesday and Thursday.
Police said Tariqul (7), son of Kabir Molla of Gohata area of the town, while crossing the road was run over by a speeding bus in the afternoon. He died on the spot.
Later, on information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
In another incident a speeding bus dashed Jashim Kazi (5), son of Latif Kazi of Bedgram, at the same spot on Wednesday morning, killing him on the spot.
Another report from Jhalakati adds: A madrasah teacher was killed in a road accident at Nandikati in Nalchhiti Upazila Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Hafez M Shamim Ahmed (55), a teacher of Nandikati Madrasah.
Local people said Shamim Ahmed died on the spot when a motorcycle hit him. The motorcyclist managed to flee the scene.
Police later on secret information arrested the motorcyclist Jakir Hossain from Manpasha area of the upazila Friday.
