FE REPORT | January 15, 2024 00:00:00

Three more public universities have joined the cluster admission system in Bangladesh, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC).

UGC will hold the upcoming entry test in the cluster system.

A total of 35 public universities have now confirmed their participation in the upcoming academic session.

The newly added universities are Kurigram Agricultural University in the Agricultural cluster, Sunamganj University of Science and Technology, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology in Pirojpur, both in the Science and Technology cluster.

This decision was made during a meeting held at the UGC, where discussions were conducted on batch admission tests in public universities.

The meeting was chaired by UGC Chairman Prof Muhammad Alamgir, and attended by Vice Chancellors from 32 public universities in the Agriculture and Science and Technology clusters. During the meeting, Prof Alamgir emphasized that the UGC does not want to impose any decisions on universities forcibly, and that the independence and identity of the universities must be maintained.
