Three sentenced to life term for violating garment worker

GAZIPUR, Aug 28 (UNB): The court of Women and Children Repression Protection Tribunal has sentenced three people to life term imprisonment for violating a garment worker.
The convicted persons are Hazrat Ali (45), Ameer Ali (42) and Abdul Aziz (45), of Gabtali village under Kaliakoir Upazila. All of them were present on the dock.
According to the prosecution, boatman Ameer Ali and two of his associates violated a garment worker on September 1, 1998 while she was returning home by the boat from Kaliakoir.
After examining records and witnesses, Judge Khan Abdul Mannan delivered the verdict Monday.
