Three-tier security steps in Ctg centring Eid

CHITTAGONG, July 15 (BSS): A three-tier security measures have been adopted in the port city and its adjacent area centring the Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, to make the celebration a total success.
Besides, the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has also set up 56 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at different strategic points to monitor the security measures arranged for city dwellers.
According to the sources of CMP and district Police, the additional security measures will exist from the previous day of Eid and till next three days. Abdul Jalil Mondol, Commissioner of the CMP, told reporters that all the police stations and camps have already given instruction to ensure extra security measures in all the celebration points including the Eid congregations.
Besides deployment of the additional forces, detective vigilance was intensified at all the busiest market points and shopping malls.
All the entry points of the city like Shah Amanat Bridge, City Gate and Oxygen area were brought under tight security measures with CCTV monitoring. Necessary instructions were also given to search the suspicious persons at any points during the celebration period.
Abdul Jalil Mondol said, "We will watch the movement of boarders of the residential hotels". On the other hand, RAB-7 has taken all-out security measures to make the festival a total success.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC), the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), and all other concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, with due fervor, joy and enthusiasm.
They have completed all kinds of preparations in the port city under the auspices of the Chittagong district administration, Metropolitan Police, and other religious organisations for peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr with due solemnity and feelings.
The CCEJC has completed preparations to hold 93 Eid congregations at different venues in the city while CCC completed 14 congregations structure on Eid-ul-Fitr at traditional and temporary venues including its 41 wards under the supervision of respective ward councillor.
