The authorities of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited realised around Tk 0.24 million (240,000) in drives against illegal connections during April last.
During the drives the authorities also disconnected illegal gas connections to several residential, industrial and commercial users.
The drives were conducted in Gazipur and in Rupganj, Sonargaon, Siddhirganj and Araihazar of Narayanganj. Drives were also conducted in Savar, Mirpur, Laximbazar and Malitola of the capital.
The authorities removed 282.81 kilometres of illegal gas lines and disconnected supplies to 73,030 stoves used by different households.
