Tk 110m farm inputs distributed among flood-hit farmers

The government has so far dealt out Tk 110 million worth of farm inputs to flood-affected farmers in 17 districts for damage recovery.
A total of 0.185-million farmers have so far been given the assistance in order to compensate for the recent flood damage, reads a press release.
In the first phase, 94,000 farmers have been given late Aman seed varieties and fertilisers worth Tk 58 million.
In the second phase, 700 farmers of Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar and Habiganj districts have been given Aman paddy seeds and fertilisers worth Tk 0.35 million.
The delivery of the third tranche of Tk 50 million has started to rehabilitate 90,000 peasants.
Besides, farmers will get 5.0-kilogram high-yielding Aman seed, 10-kilo phosphate and 10-kilo potash.
Meanwhile, free distribution of early winter vegetable seeds is under process to compensate for the flood-affected farmers.
