Dhaka University (DU) authorities have postponed the fourth-year honours examinations of the seven colleges which were scheduled to be held today (Tuesday), reports bdnews24.com.
The decision comes after clashes broke out among the students of several
educational institutions in the span of two days over the death of a student from Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College.
According to a notification issued by the university's examination controller's office on Monday, Tuesday's exam for the seven colleges affiliated with DU has been postponed citing "unavoidable reasons".
The notification also states a new exam schedule will be announced "shortly" and the timetable for other examinations will remain unchanged.
The fourth-year honours exams of the seven colleges began last week.
Students of various educational institutions in Old Dhaka have engaged in clashes for the past two days over the death of a Mollah College student who passed away while undergoing treatment at Dhaka National Medical.
