The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations scheduled for today (Thursday) have been shifted to March 7 (Saturday) due to hartal, reports UNB.
Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan came up with the announcement at a press briefing at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday.
"We have changed the exams schedule as the BNP-led alliance extended its hartal by 48 hours. We can't push our students towards uncertainty," he said.
He said the postponed examinations of Science/ General Science and Elective Mathematics (Theory) under General Education Board, Bengali 2nd paper under Madrasha Board and Trade-2 under Technical Education Board will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on the day.
The BNP-led 20-party alliance extended on Tuesday its ongoing 72-hour nationwide hartal by 48 hours until 6:00 am Friday for the fourth time. Now the shutdown that began at 6:00 am Sunday will end at 6:00 am Friday.
