Tornado leaves 5 hurt, 25 houses damaged

SHARIATPUR, July 27 (UNB): At least 5 people were injured and some 25 thatched houses were damaged by a violent tornado in the district Friday.
Witnesses said the tornado struck Telipara and Chamta villages in Noria Upazila at about 5.00 am, destroying the dwellings and injuring five people.
Standing crops on a vast area were damaged and a large number of trees were also uprooted by the storm.
