Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid warned that stern actions will be taken against those who will get involved in question paper leakage or circulating those through facebook and spreading rumour about it during the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, report agencies.
The minister issued the warning while talking to reporters after an inter-ministerial meeting on the preparation of the SSC examination scheduled to begin on February 2.
The minister said the government has taken strict measures to prevent any attempt of leakage of question papers.
He said the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will take necessary steps to stop the leakage of question papers through the social media sites, including facebook, he said.
"Those on the list of suspects involved in question paper leakage will be brought under strict surveillance. Besides, the father, mother, sister, brother and friends of the suspects will be kept under observation," said the minister.
He said this year the authorities concerned will keep vigil on BG Press to prevent any attempt of question paper leakage and the ministry will also monitor the activities in BG Press.
"We have taken the highest measure to ensure strict monitoring against the leakage of question papers of the examinations. The on-duty officers and staffs of the BG Press are being monitored through close circuit cameras," Nahid told the reporters after the meeting.
He said all necessary preparations have been taken to hold the upcoming SSC and equivalent level examinations. Delivery Order (DO) letters, meantime, have been issued to all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners (DCs), superintendents of police (SPs), Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) and officer-in-charge (OCs) of all police stations in this connection.
Besides, the uninterrupted power supply, must be ensured in the halls during the examinations, said the minister. He called upon all examinees not to pay heed to any rumour centering the examinations.
