Tourists looted on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road

COX'S BAZAR, Dec 20 (UNB): Armed robbers, in separate incidents, looted money and valuables from the passengers of eight buses on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road Saturday morning and night.
Police and witnesses said that the robbers injured 10 tourists and damaged two vehicles during the robberies.
Police said that armed bandits intercepted two passenger buses in Ukhia Thaingkhali area blocking the road by wooden logs at about 8:00 pm.
They swooped on the buses, carrying tourists from Teknaf and St. Martin's Island, and looted their belongings.
Earlier in the morning, another robbery was committed in hilly Telkhola area.
The robbers waylaid a jeep and five auto-rickshaws on the road, robbed the passengers and fled the scene.
Ten tourists were also injured during the incidents of the robbery.
