Trader dies in city road crash

A vegetable trader was killed in a road accident in the city's Gulshan area on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Latif (48), son of Mofiz Uddin of Biswanathpur village under Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district.

A duty officer of Gulshan Police Station told the FE that the accident occurred around 6:30 am when a pickup van loaded with vegetables hit a roadside island near Road No. 92 under Gulshan Circle-2 after its driver lost control of vehicle due to brake failure.

Latif was critically injured and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead around 9:30 am.
