CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 28 (UNB): Traffic on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway was disrupted for six hours as cattle traders of the district put barricades on the highway at Biswa Road intersection on Saturday night, protesting the seizure of cattle by BGB members.

Later, the traders removed the barricades around 2am on Sunday after the local administration assured the traders of taking necessary steps to solve the problem.

Chapainawabganj BGB 9 battalion commanding officer Lt Col Sheikh

Mohammad Abu Zafar Bazlul Haque said BGB members seized 153 cattle as part of the anti-cattle smuggling drive.

In reaction to the drive, the cattle traders put barricades on the Biswa Road intersection about 8 pm by placing cattle-laden trucks haphazardly.
