Traders of B'baria observing indefinite strike

BRAHMANBARIA, Sept 8 (UNB) Traders of nine markets, including the main kitchen market Anondobazar, in the district town have been observing indefinite strike since Sunday to press their several demands.brSources said two groups of traders at Anondobazar kitchen market locked in a series of clashes on August 30 and September 1 over the sale of vegetables at the market, leaving about 100 people injured.brLater, police filed a case against 70 persons in this connection. Police also arrested some 41 people in connection with the clashes.brProtesting the police action the traders decided to go for indefinite strike from Sunday.brTheir demands include halting of indiscriminate arrest in connection with the clash and stoppage of harassment of common people by the police, withdrawal of case filed against the arbitrators and removal of concerned police personnels.
